When it comes to putting on a show, St. Agnes RC school in Crawcrook do it in style. Mrs Hankin kindly invited me along to what she termed as “A concert in the yard.” I imagined a few young girls and boys having a bit of a sing-song. It was rather more than that. A professional sound stage, professional performances, singing, instrumentalists, poetry, and dancing. The teachers are clearly fond of the children, but as the afternoon progressed, it was obvious that this is thoroughly reciprocated. I felt sorry for the pupils in their final year who are now moving on, but hopefully their new schools will be every bit as good as this one. Thank you for a lovely afternoon St. Agnes. Any parent wishing to have an unedited disc of all of the photographs (there are 564 of them) can contact me. I only charge £1, which is the cost of the disc and the posgage. It will play on most windows formats, and it is downloadable depending on your software. If photos are published elsewhere (newsletters etc.) please give rytonian.com a credit/plug!
