The tenth session of Ryton Festival in Emmaville Hall was opened last night (Thursday) by its Vice – President Mrs Doris Williams.  The Federation of Festivals is a national movement, but Mrs Williams said that our event, held in a small semi-rural town, is one of the biggest and best.  Our hard-working committee have retained traditional classes, but have moved with the times and made the choices wider.

I was unable to stay for the full session last night (if it’s not one problem it’s your mother) but I before I had to leave I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Class 35, Girls’ Solo (under 18 years) and listening to Tia Radix Callixte, Rebecca Symonds, Bryony Lane, Hannah McGrady, Pamelina Oubinova, Isabella Redmayne, Rosie Kat, Emma Raymont, Tianna Masters, and Ben Gardner.  Well done to all of you.
